BEHIND-THE-SCENES VIDEOGRAPHER
CLASS PARENT
Duties:
- Check in with House Manager upon arrival
- Then check that your groups costumes, headpieces and props are prepared for dancers to efficiently get into costume after they check-in
- Check in each child as they arrive using program & supervise until pick-up
- Children should be supervised at all times
- Help keep children safe, entertained, chaperon restroom breaks, any needs of children during rehearsal & performance
- Recommended: Bring games, coloring, blankets to sit on, anything to keep them busy but in your control, quiet and having fun backstage.
- Be sure all dancers go to the bathroom BEFORE putting on their costumes
- Will observe child’s dance from audience, but the rest of the show will sit with class in the audience
- Know when your class goes on stage & escort them when the house manager queues
- Make sure students eat a NEAT snack before the show
- After show, help clean up the dressing room by throwing trash away & collecting any items that were left behind
- Turn volunteer badge to the House Manager before you leave

LOAD-IN/SET-UP
Duties:
- Help load costumes and marley dance floor into the theater.
- Assist with clearing the stage and backstage area free of extraneous items.
- Set up marley floor on the stage. Roll out smoothly and securely.
- Sweep/dry mop the stage and backstage area before and after laying the marley floor down.
- Ensure that the stage and backstage area are safe and clean enough for the kids to dance on. Check for any hazards
- Help with any other heavy lifting or rearranging of large items.
- This role is great for someone willing to put their strength to use!

COSTUME MANAGERS
Duties:
-Check in with House Manager upon arrival
-Make sure all costumes are organized & ready to hand out
-Steam costumes if needed
-Help class parents give costume to every child & remind to put on after restroom
-Remind students not to get them dirty before the show by sitting on chair or blanket
-Make sure all students involved in quick-changes have their costumes pre-set for rehearsal AND the show!
-Check both off stage & on stage for jewelry, nail polish, strings, holes, etc.
-Check right before performance to make sure all students are presentable
-After show, make sure all costumes that belong to BRB are returned & packed

HAIR & MAKE-UP MANAGERS
Duties:
- Check in with House Manager upon arrival
- See every child and approve hair has been pulled back in a proper bun
- See every child and approve make-up upon arrival
- Help class parents with children who need makeup
- Make sure all headpieces are pinned securely
- Retouch hair before performance, if needed
- Recheck & retouch all dancers’ make-up before performance
- Remind students to be careful not to get makeup on costumes
- Recommended for young classes: NO LIPSTICK for rehearsal – put on right before show please!
- Check both off stage & on stage for jewelry, nail polish, strings, holes, etc.
- Help with other tasks around auditorium to prepare for show
- After the show, make sure all hair pieces that belong to BRB are returned & packed
- Return volunteer badge to the House Manager before you leave

HEADPIECES & PROPS MANAGERS
Duties:
- Check in with House Manager upon arrival
- Make sure props are preset on backstage prop table & tell the students involved with props where the prop table is
- Remind all students not to touch props unless its your prop & time to use it
- Make sure all headpieces are organized & ready to hand out
- Make sure all headpieces are pinned securely
- Help class parents with children who need headpieces secured
- Recheck & retouch all dancers’ make-up before performance
- Remind students to be careful not to get makeup on costumes
- Make sure all students involved in quick-changes have head pieces pre-set
- Check both off stage & on stage for jewelry, nail polish, strings, holes, etc.
- Help with other tasks around auditorium to prepare for show
- After the show, make sure all props are returned & packed

CANDID PHOTOGRAPHER
Duties:
- Check-in with management upon arrival to receive your volunteer badge and be directed to your table
- Take pictures during rehearsal - dancers practicing & hanging out
- Remind dancers & families they can take their picture by the BRB backdrop
- Help with other tasks around auditorium to prepare for show
- Return volunteer badge to the House Manager before you leave

BEHIND-THE-SCENES VIDEOGRAPHER
Duties:
- Capture the behind the scenes process!
- Record videos of backstage and rehearslas
- Hold dancer interviews during dress rehearsl and in between performances
- Check in with House Manager upon arrival
- Edit videos together to send out to participants as a keepsake (no set length - short & sweet!)
- Must know how to edit video and have an artistic eye!
- Return edited video asap after the performances

PHOTO OP MANAGER
Duties:
- Check-in with management upon arrival to receive your volunteer badge and be directed to your table
- Set-up the "photo-op" screne
- Remind dancers & families they can take their picture by the BRB backdrop
- Take pictures for families
- Please keep an eye on the lobby restrooms to make sure we are neat
- Help with other tasks around auditorium to prepare for show
- After the show, make sure "photo-op" screne is taken down & packed away
- Return volunteer badge to the House Manager before you leave

USHERS
Duties:
- Check in with House Manager upon arrival
- Help manage Box Office & Lobby lines
- Remind audience members no food or drink into the theater
- Hand out programs
- Help keep theater clean before the show by throwing away any trash in aisles or around theater
- Help keep restroom tidy & direct patrons to its location
- Help audience members find seating before show – “please step all the way into the row & don’t leave an empty seat”
- Make sure no one sits in the designated dancer areas
- Stay in assigned area until the start of the show, then sit with family
- After show, help clean up the auditorium & backstage area by throwing trash away & collecting any items that were left behind
BALLET BOUTIQUE
Duties:
- Check-in with management upon arrival to receive your volunteer badge and be directed to your table
- Set-up the “Ballet Boutique” fundraiser table (boxes of merchandise will be under the table)
- Place a tablecloth over all merchandise and sweet treats until the “Ballet Boutique” is open before the show, during intermissions and after the performance
- Remind people that there is no eating in the auditorium
- Make sales quickly and be sure to direct people where to stand in lie so there is no traffic
- Please keep an eye on the lobby restrooms to make sure we are neat (check-in with management for extra supplies)

POST SHOW CLEANUP
Duties:
- Check in with House Manager upon arrival
- Help clean the auditorium, backstage area, dressing rooms or elsewhere after the performance.
- Check-in with management to be assigned a specific area.
- When the auditorium in cleaned, check-in with the costume managers to help organize, pack and load costumes
